 FAQs

  • Yes! I currently have a few openings.

  • I am offering sessions both in person (for those who are vaccinated) and via teletherapy. Teletherapy sessions are held via video, on a secure, HIPPA- compliant teletherapy platform to assure confidentiality. Services are available to people currently located in New York state (including those attending college in New York).

  • Therapy can be helpful in a variety of ways- in figuring something out, talking through and processing things, by learning ways to cope, and discovering what to do to help with problems you are experiencing. Maybe you have felt stuck for a while and need a professional opinion. But therapy is also a collaborative process. One of the major factors in its success is the relationship between you and your therapist. So, it is important to feel comfortable with the person, and that who “gets” you. Also, the therapist needs the skills and experience to help you, so make sure when choosing someone that they have training and experience in the area that you would like help with.

  • Appointments are between approximately 50-60 minutes.

  • Sessions cost $155 for individuals and $165 for couples. You can utilize your Flex Spending Account/Health Savings Account to pay for services. This helps save you money by using tax-free money to pay for services.

  • I run a small boutique private practice, so I am considered an out of network provider for almost all insurance companies. So, if you have out of network coverage, your insurance will cover it. I provide you with a “Superbill” to submit for reimbursement to your insurance company. Payment is collected at the time of your session, then you submit the Superbill to your insurance company to receive reimbursement.

There are several advantages to paying privately instead of using insurance. For example, no mental health diagnosis is needed, and there is no paper trail then of a diagnosis of any mental illness. There are no session limits, such as those imposed by managed care. You also have enhanced privacy for your personal information without insurance involvement.

  • In this pandemic era that we’re living through, please do not come to an in-person visit if you are sick! If you wake up sick on the day of your appointment, you always have the option to meet via teletherapy if you can’t come to the office in person (if you feel up to it) . If you don’t show up to a session or cancel without notice, you will be charged for the session. My practice is my full-time livelihood.
